Module Developer: Developed the academic content as part of the annual syllabus for the modules of Human Anatomy & Physiology II (theory & practical) as well as Histology II (practical). Family Practice in Midrand: Treated a wide scope of patients privately within the scope of practise of Chiropractics. This included taking a comprehensive case history, thorough physical examination, specialized treatment, referrals for diagnostic tests (Radiographs, MRI scans, Bone densitometry, Blood tests, Urinalysis as required), stretching and strengthening exercises and ergonomic advice.
Scope of patients included geriatrics, pregnancy and post-pregnancy cases, paediatrics, sports injuries, motor vehicle accident injuries, injury-on-duty cases, amongst others.
Specialized Chiropractic treatment included chiropractic adjustments, dry needling, ischaemic compression, traction, therapeutic ultrasound, interferential current (IFC), laser therapy, effleurage, stretching and strengthening exercises, amongst others.
Most common pathologies treated included headaches, spinal pain (cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral and coccygeal pain), extremity pain, infantile colic, arthritis, adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), myalgia (muscle pain), neuralgia (nerve pain), Bell’s palsy, planta fasciitis, joint oedema, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome amongst others.
Corporate Practice in Braamfontein: Facilitation and maintenance of corporate health and wellness in the workplace which was departmental-based; Worked together with the nursing sister on developing workplace wellness programmes including employee health analysis; Treated patients privately within the scope of practise of Chiropractics.
